Alice stiffens and she completely stops moving at the tone of his voice. She lowers her gaze as she starts considering whether or not taking off is worth it. She's still close enough to the door that she can make it. She looks back up and whispers. Her voice sounds harsh to her own ears, after all it's been a while since she's spoken.
